About Me

Coming from a family of foodies I first learned to cook at home, but in 1998 an intensive course at Ewert Place Cookery School, Oxford, gave me the skills and confidence to start working in the ski chalet industry. I worked full time – designing menus, managing teams of chalet staff and ensuring that the guests received the service and food that they were expecting.

After 10 years of moving between the French Alps and the London office, I chose to return to the UK full time and it was during this period that I began to really use my cooking skills – catering weddings, ski industry parties and private dinner parties.

I realised that city life wasn’t really for me after 4 years in London, and I leapt at the opportunity to move to the south of France. 20 years later I’ve never looked back. Running a property management company in and around La Garde Freinet in the Var has given me ample opportunity to continue catering for my clients. Villa dinners, weddings, canapé parties for 50, birthday parties, buffet lunches… During this period I have continued to work part time in the ski industry, designing menus and teaching cooking to a new batch of chalet cooks each winter.

However, the time has come to concentrate on my passion – cooking. My style is delicious but simple dishes using seasonal ingredients. My ideal meal is a table laden with different plates and salads, probably with a heavy middle eastern influence. However, I also enjoy cooking the French & British classics, and Asian dishes often pop up on my menus. I am also a keen baker and love testing out new recipes on my very grateful friends!
